NAUGATUCK — The Harvest Moon Festival is set to rise in the borough once again.

The 32nd Annual Harvest Moon Festival is Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the Town Green.

The festival, which has been hosted by Boy Scout Troop 102 for over 15 years, will feature dozens of craft and food vendors. Ray Blum, chairman of the festival, said this week that 75 vendors have reserved spots. He said many of the food vendors are nonprofit organizations that participate to raise funds. He added that more than half the craft vendors will be selling handcrafted merchandise.

“Our mission for the Harvest Moon Festival is to maximize community interest and benefit,” Blum said. “We strive to provide the best balance of the ultimate craft fair and community service.”

There will be activities for children, demonstrations by the scouts and entertainment throughout the festival.

“It’s a beautiful time of year,” Blum said. “It brings out the families and draws a large crowd. The vendors thank me each year for a great festival. And it allows us to offer a very active program for our Boy Scout troop.”
