PROSPECT — The Prospect Congregational Church will say goodbye to summer next weekend with its annual Fall Festival and Carnival.

“It’s a lot of fun. The food is good. There is a lot of fellowship. A lot of people run into their friends when they come up. You can’t come up here without running into people you know,” said Tina Soderberg, Prospect Congregational Church secretary and carnival treasurer.

The fun and games start Sept. 18 on the Town Green as the carnival will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. The rides will run Sept. 19 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 19, and from 12 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 20.

The festival, which features about 60 crafters and vendors, is open for business Sept. 19 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sept. 20 from 12 to 5 p.m.

Soderberg said there will also be a variety of entertainment, including live music and a Birds of Prey show put on by the Audubon of Connecticut, throughout the weekend. Festival goers will also be able to buy traditional festival foods such as hot dogs, hamburgers, chowder and chili.

A silent auction will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Sept. 19 in the Meeting Place, and young children can also enjoy some games in the Grange during the weekend.

The festivities wrap up with a Truck and Motorcycle Show, which will feature old and new trucks and motorcycles, Sept. 20 from 12 to 5 p.m.
