PROSPECT — Workers began to clean catch basins on Talmadge Hill Road, Plank Road and Scott Road this week.
Mayor Robert Chatfield said people will hear a noise he described as a high pitched whistle or siren.
“That’s the pump that sucks the sand and other debris out of the catch basins,” he said.
A private contractor will perform the work, but the contractor will be accompanied by a town employee in a town truck.
Chatfield said the work will continue for about a month, and will fan out from the three roads as they are completed.
