Letter: Country needs another Patton

To the editor,

In 1941, there were 2,400 casualties at Pearl Harbor. It took us only hours for President Roosevelt to declare war.

When we were attacked in New York City, killing 3,000, we did nothing but squirmed in our seats.

The leader of the “Islamic Nation” continues to proclaim, “Death to America.” What do we do now? We release our restrictions on dealing with them and continue to squirm and let them develop atomic bombs.

I realize we are undergoing what you might call an economic downsizing today, but it seems it is accompanied by a mental downsizing. Where are we going from here? We need another General George Patton.
