PROSPECT — Police are investigating two separate burglaries that occurred on back-to-back days in town.

Officers responded to an alarm at the Sunoco Gas Station at 68 Waterbury Road during the early morning hours June 15. When officers arrived, the front glass window was broken, police reported.

Police said video surveillance showed a dark sedan pull into the parking lot at about 2:30 a.m. A lone suspect wearing a gray sweatshirt got out, broke the window and reached in and stole 12 packs of cigarettes, police said.

The suspect also forced the bathroom door open, and damaged the bathroom in an attempt to break through a wall to gain access to the rear office of the business, police said.

No further description of the suspect was given.

On June 16, police responded to a home burglary at 245 New Haven Road. Police said the home was burglarized sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m., and various items were taken. No further information was released.
