NAUGATUCK — Work is slated to begin Monday to replace a section of an old water main on Rubber Avenue.

The Connecticut Water Company is replacing 4,000 feet of a water main, which was originally installed in the 1930’s, between Brookside Avenue and Meadow Street, the company announced in a press release.

The work will be done from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Construction will take place in three phases. The first phase will be from Edward Street moving towards Meadow Street, the release stated. The project is expected to be completed in early July.

Drivers can expect alternating one-lane traffic during construction. Customers along the construction route will be notified at least 24 hours in advance of any planned water service interruption, the release stated.
