Obituary: Rosemary S. Gruszkiewicz

NAUGATUCK — Rosemary S. Gruszkiewicz, 84, widow of Clemence Gruszkiewicz, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 11, 2015 at Glendale Center.

Rosemary was born Oct. 12, 1930 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., a daughter of the late Andrew and Susan (Maravich) Sytnik and had lived in Naugatuck for most of her life. She was a retired employee of the footwear division of Uniroyal, Inc., and also worked as a home health aid for the Naugatuck Visiting Nurses Association. Rosemary was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

Rosemary is survived by her sons, Vincent Gruszkiewicz, Bernard Gruszkiewicz and Kenneth Gruszkiewicz; her daughter, Clara Ann Gruszkiewicz; her sister, Ann Davis; her brother, Andrew Sytnik; her give grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Rosemary was predeceased by her sisters, Frances Sytnik, Cookie Doback and Irene Mullins, and her brothers, Henry Sytnik and Joseph Sytnik.

A special thank you is extended to her granddaughter, Valerie, and to Melissa Ricketts for the exceptional loving care they gave to “Gram.”

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St. Relatives and friends are asked to please meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue has been entrusted with the arrangements.
