SEYMOUR — Edward Sadlowski, 81, beloved husband of Marian L. Wolniak Sadlowski, of Seymour, died May 26, 2015 in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side.

Born in Ansonia on May 28, 1933, he was the son of the late Joseph and Katherine Bialczak Sadlowski. Mr. Sadlowski graduated from Ansonia High School as class president, attended UConn, and was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. A Seymour resident for over 50 years, he worked as a technical writer for Sikorsky Aircraft until his retirement in 1995, previously employed at AVCO and Phillips Medical Systems. Mr. Sadlowski was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd, a loyal fan of men’s and women’s UConn basketball, and a talented handyman from home repairs to fixing bikes for neighborhood kids.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by his devoted children, Mark (Deb) Sadlowski of Seymour, Susan (Joseph) Criscuolo of Seymour, and Rachel (Adrian Correia) Sadlowski of Naugatuck; cherished grandchildren, Katrina Nash of North Carolina, and Nicholas and Alyssa Criscuolo of Seymour; sister, Josephine Piekarski of Seymour; and sister-in-law, Patricia Wolniak of Seymour; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Mary Sadlowski, Genevieve Hall, and Chesterlyn Sokolowski; and brothers, Joseph, Stanley and Chester Sadlowski.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 9 a.m. from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment with military honors will follow in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Family and friends may call on Friday, May 29, 2015, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
