WATERBURY — Carol Anderson Derwin, 72, of Waterbury, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Derwin was born on Dec. 27, 1942, in Waterbury, daughter of the late George T. and Margaret (Lannon) Anderson, Sr.

Carol was a 1960 graduate of Naugatuck High School and of Post College, where she earned her degree in accounting. She worked for the city of Waterbury as an accountant for the Department of Education. She was the past president of The American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Post 17, in Naugatuck.

Mrs. Derwin is survived by her four brothers, Jim Anderson and his wife, Libby, of Rockmart, Ga., Ray Anderson Sr. and his wife, Betty, of Watertown, Tom Anderson and his wife, Kathy, of Broadway, N.C., George Anderson, Jr. and his wife, Ann, of Dixon, Mo.; three sisters, Marie Nardello of Cape Haze, Fla., Virginia Baukus and her husband, Stanley, of Yarmouthport, Mass., and Margaret Hallman and her husband, Jesse, of Naugatuck. Carol will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck.
