PROSPECT — Mrs. Janice B. (Deeves) Malm, 82, of Prospect, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife for 65 years of George A. Malm, II.

Mrs. Malm was born in Washburn, Maine on April 4, 1932 a daughter of the late Merle E. and Glenna (Stoddard) Deeves.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and was a member of the Living Faith Christian Church in Waterbury for many years.

She was member of the Prospect Senior Center, the Prospect Historical Society, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Prospect P.T.A., the Cheshire Senior Center and the Song Birds of Prospect. She served as a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader for five years and taught Sunday School at the Prospect Congregational Church. Mrs Malm enjoyed painting, woodworking, sculpting, tag saling, square dancing, knitting, crocheting and crafting.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Malm was the proud mother of four children, daughter Susan G. (Malm) Wilson of Southbury; three sons, Jeffrey D. Malm and his wife Claudia of Safford, Ariz. and Michael Malm (predeceased) and George A. Malm III of Prospect.

She has four sisters, Earlyne Lamoreau of Presque Isle, Maine, Wanda Bigelow and her husband Charles of Tolland, and Paula Peterson-Seldon and her husband Robert of Friendship, N.Y. and Sharon Kistner (predeceased); four brothers, Dwinal Deeves and his wife Sharon of Randolph, Maine, Victor Deeves and his wife Claudette of Presque Isle, Maine, and Robert Deeves and his wife Diane of Presque Isle, Maine, and Darrol Deeves (predeceased).

Mrs. Malm has three grandchildren, Jodi S. Cihal and husband Vincent, Brittany Malm, and Corissa (Malm) Bamford and husband Joe; two great-grandchildren, Kacey Mastropietro and Michael Cihal and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Malm’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect to the Living Faith Christian Church, 69 Prospect Road, Waterbury for services at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 6 to 7:45 p.m. A prayer service will be held from 7:45 to 8 p.m.
