Letter: Music series offers entertainment right in town

To the editor,

On Friday, Feb. 27, I took my granddaughter Rachel, a big Beatles fan, to a Beatles tribute show at the Whittemore Library. We really did not know what to expect, but I must say we were pleasantly surprised. Two musicians (Joe Masulli and Roger Olander) performed for two hours playing songs made popular by the Beatles, as well as a few songs written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon for others performers, such as The Everly Brothers, Gerry and The Pacemakers and Peter and Gordon.

Mr. Masulli sang and played the guitar and piano, and Mr. Olander sang and offered bits of information about the Beatles and their history in music. Both gentlemen did an excellent job and were very entertaining.

Needless to say, my granddaughter enjoyed the performance, and so did I and the other 20 or so people who attended. It just proves that you don’t really have to travel too far for entertainment when it is available right here in town.

My compliments to the library staff for presenting the music series. This was our first time attending a performance, but I’m sure it won’t be the last.
