Police investigating burglary

BEACON FALLS — A thief or thieves made off with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry during a daytime burglary of a home on Rimmon Hill Road.

Police reported the home at 354 Rimmon Hill Road was burglarized during the day Jan. 20 while the homeowners were away.

Police reported $4,500 of jewelry was stolen, including a diamond ring valued at $2,000. A camcorder and digital camera were also stolen, police said.

The suspect or suspects used pillow cases from the house to carry the stolen goods, police reported.

Police are also investigating an attempted break-in at the Forest Construction Company, 41 Lancaster Road, that occurred overnight Jan. 23.

Police said a small window on the rear door of the business was broken and a side door had pry marks on it. No access was gained to the business, police said, and nothing was stolen.
