BETHANY — Mr. John M. Moffat, Sr., 80, of Bethany, passed away on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015. He was the husband of Judith (McCasland) Moffat.
John was born in the Union City section of Naugatuck on Dec. 22, 1934, a son of the late George Moffat, Sr. and the late Isabel (Dodds) Moffat and had been a Bethany resident for the past 17 years, moving here from Naugatuck. He retired from American Electro Products in Waterbury after 18 years of service and had previously been employed by Bristol-Babcock until 1995, with over 35 years of service.
Besides his wife Judith, he leaves three children, John M. Moffat, Jr. and his wife, Sharon, of Waterbury, Bonnie M. Moffat of Wolcott and Kellie W. Moffat of Thomaston; one brother, Douglas K Moffat and his wife, Beth, of Beacon Falls; two sisters, Mary I. Fusco of Naugatuck, and Roberta E. Snyder and her husband, Ross, of Beacon Falls; three grandchildren, John, III, Adem and Amber, as well as many nieces and nephews.
All services will be private with burial in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St., is assisting the family with all the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Cancer Fund, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
