NAUGATUCK — Dorothy M. (Johnson) Strusinski, 98, widow of John Strusinski, passed away peacefully at Glendale Health Center on Monday, Feb. 9, 2015.
Mrs. Strusinski was born in Pennsylvania on May 5, 1916, daughter of the late Gustaf A. and Matilda (Helsing) Johnson. She had lived most of her life in the Naugatuck and Waterbury area, and she retired from Dorset Rex Co. after many years of service. Dorothy was a member of the Naugatuck Women’s Friendship Club, AARP Chapter 495, and a communicant of St. Hedwig Church. She was an avid golfer during her younger years and played at many local courses.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Glendale Health Center for the care and compassion given to Dorothy during her stay there.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Hedwig Church, 32 Golden Hill St., Naugatuck. Visitation will be on Saturday morning from 9:30 until 10 a.m. at the church. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, is assisting the family with arrangements.
