BEACON FALLS — Anna L. Zollo, 101, the widow of Charles Zollo, died peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 at Paradigm Healthcare Center of Prospect.

Anna was born June 27, 1913 in Middletown, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Alfia (Mazzota) Leonardo, having lived most of her life in Beacon Falls, and was first and foremost dedicated to her family. Anna had worked as a cottage supervisor at Southbury Training School and she had also worked at Uniroyal, Inc. Anna was a communicant of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Church Ladies Guild. She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross Blood Program, a member of the Beacon Falls Senior Citizens and she crocheted and donated many afghans for veterans and the elderly.

Anna is survived by her son, Albert C. Zollo and his wife, Marion, of Beacon Falls; her son, Leonard R. Zollo and his wife, Katherine, of Bethany; her son Charles L. Zollo and his wife, Jane, of Babylon, L.I., N.Y.; her grandchildren, Emily, Karen, Amy, David, Christopher and Colin; her great-grandchildren, Kaylana, Antonio, Sadie and Maggie; her brother-in-law, Richard; her sisters-in-law, May and Antoinette, and her many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, 25 Maple Ave. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours are Monday, March 2, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
