NAUGATUCK — Angelo Caruso, 81, beloved husband of Carmela (Migliore) Caruso, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015 at Glendale Health Center surrounded by his family.

Mr. Caruso was born in Vittoria, Sicily, on Oct. 28, 1933, son of the late Giovanni and Nunziatina (Insulla) Caruso. He resided in Naugatuck for the past 24 years. He was a retired construction worker and mason, and had also worked as a coal miner during his younger years. Angelo enjoyed making wine and gardening.

Besides his wife of 57 years, he is survived by four sons, John E. Caruso of Naugatuck, Enrico J. Caruso of Southington, Vincent Caruso of Monroe, Joseph Caruso of Massachusetts; his daughter, Nancy Laviolette of Naugatuck; his two brothers, Giovanni Caruso of Trumbull and Giuseppe Caruso of Monroe; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Angelo was predeceased by his daughter, Connie Caruso.

His funeral will be held on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at 10 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, to St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the spring in Grove Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 4 to 7 p.m.
