PROSPECT — State Sen. Joe Markley (R-16) and state Rep. Lezlye Zupkus (R-89) will host a town hall meeting in Prospect to discuss the 2015 legislative session.

The meeting is scheduled for Feb. 5 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Town Hall, 36 Center St. The event is open to the public.

“The legislature faces many important issues this session,” Markley said in a press release. “Bills relating to state spending, the budget, and transportation will be debated and voted on. The governor will likely propose a new tax, road tolls, to pay for his new initiatives.”

Zupkus said in the press release, “With the 2015 legislative session now underway, fiscal responsibility is going to be a focal point. We need to continue to look at ways to better manage our finances and address economic concerns, ensuring a Connecticut that is more-friendly to businesses and encourages job growth. I encourage anyone with concerns to come to the meeting and share them with us.”
