PROSPECT — Mr. John W. “Butch” “Cold Cuts” “Kwa” Kwasinskas, Jr., 73, of Prospect, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of Cynthia Marie (Camerota) Kwasinskas.

Mr. Kwasinskas was born in Newport, R.I., on Feb. 19, 1941 son of the late John W. and Cora (Andrea) Kwasinskas. He was retired as a meat cutter from LaBonne’s Market and formerly worked at Fulton Market, Waterbury Beef, Ideal Food Markets and Olivers Market. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox, and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and the outdoors, and was a former member of the Elks.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Kwasinskas is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Petracca and her husband, Steve, of Prospect and Karen Orsini and her husband, Troy, of Wolcott; a son, John J. Kwasinskas and his wife, Sarah, of Naugatuck; four grandchildren, Steven Petracca, Nicholle Petracca, Samantha Orsini and Madison Kwasinskas and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Sheila Ann Doyle.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015 from 4 to 6 p.m.
