NAUGATUCK — Mr. Howard Michael Ward, Sr., 67, of Naugatuck, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of Frances Ann (Samela) Ward.
Mr. Ward was born in Bridgeport on Jan. 3, 1948 a son of Milton F. Ward of New Britain and the late Cora (Bussiere) Ward. He was retired from Pitney Bowes where he had worked in electronic printing. He enjoyed working with electricity and magnets, building, fixing things and working on cars. He was an extremely handy man. He will be missed by his special friend Suzie.
Mr. Ward proudly served our country as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his wife and father, Mr. Ward is survived a son, Howard Michael Ward, Jr. of Naugatuck; by two daughters, Celina Ward of New Britain and Colleen Ward-Henriques and her husband Humberto “Al” of Prospect; a sister, Sheila Ward and her husband John Labieniec of New Britain; two grandsons, Cristiano Henriques and Xavier Ward- Cardona; two granddaughters, Kathleen Henriques and Emma Henriques; two special cousins, Roland and Terri Bussiere and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen (Doughty)Ward and his mother, Cora (Bussiere) Ward.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at St Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015 from 6 to 7 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life service and presentation of military honors at 7 p.m. at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect.
