HARTFORD — Speaker of the House Brendan Sharkey has appointed state Rep. Theresa Conroy (D-105) chair of the legislature’s Internship Committee.
The committee oversees the legislative internship program, which provides educational opportunities for students to acquaint themselves with the formal and informal aspects of the legislative process. The program is open to undergraduate students who are attending two- or four-year institutions of higher education in Connecticut and state residents attending out-of-state colleges.
“I am very proud of our internship program and opportunities it provides to students across the state,” Conroy said in a press release. “Students are immersed in the legislative process during the legislative session and provided an insider’s view of the Capitol.”
