Youth services organizing prevention council

NAUGATUCK — Naugatuck Youth Services is hosting a meeting of the Local Prevention Council Nov. 13.

The council was created to enhance and facilitate involvement in the development and implementation of alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention activities. It’s funded by the Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services and supporting by the Central Naugatuck Valley a Regional Action Council. Naugatuck Youth Services is the locally appointed organization that manages the council.

Naugatuck Youth Services is seeking community members to get involved with council, which meets four times a year. The Nov. 13 meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Naugatuck Youth Services, 13 Scott St. Anyone interested in attending can email Naugatuck Youth Services Executive Director Kristin Mabrouk at kmabrouk@naugatuckyouthservices.org for more information or to RSVP.
