NAUGATUCK — Mr. William O. Taylor, Jr., 83, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband for 59 years of Maureen (Leary) Taylor.

Mr. Taylor was born in Waterbury on March 27, 1931 a son of the late William O. and Mary (Plummer) Taylor. He was retired as a CPA having been a partner for many years in the accounting firm of Brick and Taylor CPAs of Waterbury and Torrington and was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Naugatuck. He was a member of the Naugatuck Running Club, the American Institute of CPAs and the Connecticut Society of CPAs.

Mr. Taylor proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Taylor is survived by two daughters, Tara Taylor of Naugatuck and Evelyn Misenis and her husband, Vytas, of Woodbury; two sons, Jeffrey Taylor and his wife, Donna, of Naugatuck and Christopher Taylor and his wife, Maria, of Waterbury; two brothers, Paul Taylor and his wife, Margaret, of Hingham, Mass. and Jay Taylor and his wife, Rebecca, of Naples, Fla., seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant son, William Taylor III.

Mr. Taylor’s family would like extend a special thanks to Dr. Jega for his kindness and support.

Mr. Taylor’s funeral will be held on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. from the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect to St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck for a mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014 from 9 to 10 a.m.
