NAUGATUCK — Lois H. (Roman) Sokoloski, 81, widow of Alfred S. Sokoloski, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014 at Waterbury Hospital.

Mrs. Sokoloski was born in Waterbury on Jan. 6, 1933, daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Plocke) Roman. She was a lifelong resident of Naugatuck, and she retired from the Naugatuck Board of Education where she served as secretary for more than 30 years. Lois was very active in local church, civic and community activities for many years in Naugatuck. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church where she was a member of the Ladies Guild.

She is survived by her three sons, Stephen Sokoloski and his wife, Marsha, of Eastford, Michael Sokoloski and his wife, Marie, of New Britain and Kenneth Sokolski and his wife, Sue, of Orange; her daughter, Dana Sirica and her husband, Steven, of Prospect; her ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Naugatuck. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church at 9:45 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Sunday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck.
