Letter: Republicans will provide a better direction

To the editor,

Our education system in our state and country is under complete overhaul with the newest implemented program, Common Core, and our future looks bleak because of it.

A recent reporting coming out of New York State, which was among the first states to implement Common Core, is that it is causing stress in students leading to a wide range of mental health related issues. The joy of learning is turning into a nightmare for parents, students, teachers, etc. As a step to stop the influx of problems, it is recommended that every parent opt-out of all of the Common Core testing for their children.

In his book “The Story-Killers,” Dr. Terrence Moore explains the indoctrination process that students are subjected to in the Common Core literature which he describes as “just one portion of this hostile takeover of the nation’s schools.” We are turning from an exceptional country based on Godliness to godlessness causing confusion and chaos.

Common Core has been put in place under the Obama administration. This is part of the plan to fundamentally change our nation or in other words destroy our country’s greatness. It has been implemented in Connecticut under the radar, and it is an important reason why the Democratic agenda needs to be defeated this November.

On Nov. 4 every registered voter has the opportunity to help elect Tom Foley for governor and the Republican candidates before all that is good is lost in our state. Our children and our freedoms rely on a better direction for Connecticut.

  1. What a great letter Janet. < – feel free to enter own sarcasm. To think Tom would have made things better? Laughable.
