NAUGATUCK — Florence I. Ruth, 68, of Naugatuck, beloved wife of the late Ronald Ruth, died peacefully in the VITAS-St. Mary’s Hospice on Sept. 5, 2014, surrounded by her family. Born in Burlington, Vt. on Oct. 10, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Madelyn Ely.

Mrs. Ruth worked as an assembler for several manufacturing companies. She loved cooking for her family, playing solitaire and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune game shows. Babysitting and watching her nine grandchildren grow brought her great joy.

She is survived by her devoted sons, Ronald (Tammy) Michel of Seymour, Thomas Michel of Naugatuck, Richard (Shelly) Michel of Waterbury, Kenneth (Christine) Michel of Waterbury and David Michel of Naugatuck; a sister, Marie “Judy” Boylan of Ansonia; brothers, Gilbert (Rodney) Ely of Beacon Falls and Carl Ely of Huntington; nine cherished grandchildren, four great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Theresa Hink and a brother, Frank Ely.

A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014 at 12 p.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Friends and family may call on Wednesday from 10 to 11:45 a.m. in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia.
