NAUGATUCK — A borough man was arrested Sunday afternoon after police said he pulled out a knife during an argument over money.

Police said Johnathon Peay, 29, of 45 School St., was arguing with the victim over money owed to him. During the argument, police reported, Peay pulled out a knife and demanded the victim pay him.

Officers responded to the scene at about 2:10 p.m. Peay threw the knife into a wooded area before officers arrived, police said. A folding knife was recovered by a police canine.

Peay was charged with first-degree robbery, carrying a dangerous weapon, second-degree threatening, breach of peace and interfering with an officer. He was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court Monday and held on a $50,000 surety bond.
