Voters approve transfer

BEACON FALLS — Residents voted to transfer $24,380 from the 2013-14 contingency fund to complete a town-wide radio program Aug. 14.

The money will go towards putting all the town’s emergency services and street department on the same radio. Previously, there were spots in town where emergency responders could not receive a radio signal under the old radio system.

A town meeting was held on Aug. 7 to make the transfer, but due to a typographical error in the call of the meeting it was deemed to be invalid.
