NAUGATUCK — A motorcycle struck a pedestrian on the Whittemore Bridge on Maple Street Wednesday afternoon.
A 13-year-old girl was crossing the bridge when a motorcycle that was turning left from South Main Street struck her, police said.
The girl did not have any apparent injuries and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, police said.
The driver of the motorcycle and a woman who was riding on the back were thrown from the bike, which skidded across the road and came to a rest on the side of the bridge, police said. The man and woman were taken to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police did not release any further information, including the names of the people involved, as the case remains under investigation. No citations had been issued as a result of the accident as of Thursday.
