BEACON FALLS — The Board of Selectmen will hold a town meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at Town Hall to vote on the transfer of $24,380 from the contingency fund to complete a town-wide radio program.

The money will be used for a new radio tower and ensuring all the proper vehicles are fitted with emergency radios.

First Selectman Christopher Bielik said there are currently gaps in the emergency radio service in certain places around Beacon Falls. The new tower will ensure that emergency personnel can be reached no matter where they are in town.

Since the transfer was for more than $20,000 it needed to be done by a town meeting, Bielik said.
