NAUGATUCK — The borough’s annual art festival will return for its fourth year.

The All Arts Festival is Aug. 23 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the Naugatuck Green. The event is free.

“The purpose of the festival is to celebrate all forms of the arts,” Arts Commission Chairwoman Lisa D’Andrea said.

D’Andrea said the festival will feature displays of visual arts such as painting, dancing, and sculpting, as well as musical performances throughout the day.

An open mic will be available to musicians and performers between 12 and 5 p.m. The evening will conclude with a concert by Watertown-based band The Royal Din.

“We’ll have everything you can imagine,” D’Andrea said.

Those who attend can also try their hand at art and music.

A participation tent will be set up where festival goers can use paint, pencils, or clay to make art of their own, D’Andrea said. An “instrument petting zoo” will also be available for people to try a variety of instruments.

In addition to the art on display there will be numerous craft and food vendors at the festival. All of the craft vendors will sell handmade items.

“Everything they sell they make themselves to show a craft or art,” D’Andrea said.

D’Andrea said the commission is seeking artists to display their work, and there are a few open spots left for vendors. Vendor spots are $20 each.

Anyone interested in displaying art or reserving a vendor spot can contact D’Andrea at (203) 723-4823 or info.naugyarts@yahoo.com.

D’Andrea encouraged people to come out to the festival and see what people have created.

“It is a nice day out with the family,” D’Andrea said.
