Letter: VNA more important than golf course

To the editor,

After reading the story written in the [June 29] Sunday Republican, I wonder where the Mayor and burgesses brains are. They definitely don’t have a heart.

I can’t imagine how these leaders, who are supposed to do what’s right for our citizens, can even give a second thought on financing the golf course when they were so quick on firing the VNA.

Twenty, 30, maybe even 40, men and women will use the course all year, when the VNA helps dozens of lives each year. Those dedicated nurses make sure the sick and elderly were taken care of.

How the Mayor can care more about a golf game than people’s lives is beyond my reasoning. None of the items listed on the referendum was more important then the VNA.
