NAUGATUCK — Firefighters responded to a large fire Sunday night in the Naugatuck Industrial Park.
The fire broke out in the parking lot of New Christie Ventures at 31 Sheridan Drive. Firefighters responded to the scene at about 7:10 p.m. and doused the fire with the assistance of Waterbury firefighters.
A press release issued Sunday night by the Naugatuck Police Department stated the fire was in a dumpster. Acting Fire Marshal Robert Weaver said Tuesday the fire was contained to large pallets of products that were waiting to be loaded onto a truck. Weaver said the company makes wholesale plastic flower pots.
No one was injured in the incident, police said, and the building sustained no damage. Weaver said there did not appear to be any reason for the pallets to have caught fire. The fire is being investigated as a possible arson, he said.
