NAUGATUCK — A 25-year-old borough was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after an accident on New Haven Road.

Howie Hafford was driving a motorcycle south on Route 63, New Haven Road, around 7:30 a.m. when he collided with a motor vehicle that was turning left onto Route 63 from Laurel Avenue, police said.

Hafford was taken immediately by ambulance to Waterbury Hospital. He was in critical but stable condition as of Tuesday night.

The driver of the car, who has not been identified yet, was the only person in the car. The driver wasn’t seriously injured, police said.

A portion of New Haven Road was closed for several hours as police investigated the accident. No further details were released as of this post.

The crash is being investigated by the Central Naugatuck Valley Regional Accident Reconstruction Unit, police said.
