Naugatuck and Beacon Falls are set to display their patriotism through live entertainment, food and fireworks.
Naugatuck’s annual July Fireworks Celebration is July 3. The celebration includes music, food and children activities along Old Firehouse Road beginning at 6 p.m. The evening will culminate with a fireworks display at dark, which is approximately 9:15 p.m. The fireworks will be set off from Rotary Field. The rain date is July 5.
The Rotary Field Complex and Hotchkiss Street will be closed to the public for the duration of the event. Old Firehouse Road will be closed to traffic at 4 p.m.
According to a press release, the fireworks can be seen from the downtown area, including the Maple Street Bridge. The fireworks’ height will be 300 feet and higher, allowing for the best viewing from a distance, the release stated.
No alcohol is permitted during the event.
There will be limited parking available in the General DataComm lot, entering from Maple Street by Nardelli’s or from GDC’s main entrance on Rubber Avenue. Parking is also available at Parcel C on Maple Street. No parking will be permitted on Maple Street. Water Street to Cedar Street will remain open for traffic.
There will be no parking or spectators allowed on the Route 63 Salem bridge. Maple Street and the Route 63 Salem Bridge will close at 9 p.m. for the fireworks.

The names of major sponsors, who donate $250 or more, will be displayed during the festivities and recognized in the local news media.
Beacon Falls’ annual Family Fun Day is July 12 with events at Matthies Park and the Pent Road Recreation Complex. The events start at 10 a.m. with the second annual Cardboard Boat Regatta at Matthies Park.
Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Beacon Falls Parks and Recreation will host its annual canoe and kayak event. People can bring their own canoe and kayak or try one provided.
Refreshments will be served during the event.
The Family Day Fireworks Celebration will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Pent Road Recreation Complex.
The event will feature food provided by local non-profit vendors and music. The evening will culminate with a fireworks display at dusk.
Buses will run from the Beacon Falls firehouse and Woodland Regional High School to the complex beginning at 6:30 p.m.
