NAUGATUCK — A registered sex offender has been arrested a second time in connection with possessing child pornography.
Roger Farkas, 70, of 43 Longview Terrace, Naugatuck, was charged June 18 with first-degree possession of child pornography. Probation officers recently went to Farkas’ home. There they found a USB drive that contained more than 2,000 images of child porn, police said. He told police he was able to play the USB drive on his Blu-Ray player.
Farkas was charged in 2009 with second-degree possession of child pornography, meaning he had between 20 and 50 images of child pornography. He was sentenced to 10 years with his sentence suspended after two years served. Court records indicate he was on probation at the time of his most recent arrest.
He was charged on an active arrest warrant while at court, according to police. He is now being held in lieu of $200,000 bond.
