NAUGATUCK — Mr. Florenc Haxhia, 77, of Naugatuck, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. He was the husband of Nazire (Sharra) Haxhia.
Mr. Haxhia, a U.S. citizen, was born in Korçë, Albania on Feb. 11, 1937, a son of the late Xhevat and Ismet (Shkembi) Haxhia. He lived most of his life in Albania. He taught generations of students and touched many lives as a teacher of tech education at Sami Frasheri High School in Tirana, Albania. Many of his students went on to become government officials. He was bestowed the title master carpenter by the Albanian government. His family was proud of his many accomplishments.
Besides his wife of Tirana, he leaves a son, Robert Haxhia of Naugatuck; a daughter, Elizabeth Haxhia of Naugatuck; two grandchildren, Tayron and Rachel Haxhia of Naugatuck; several nieces and nephews.
All services will be held in Albania. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck has been entrusted with his arrangements.
