NAUGATUCK — Police continue to investigate the death of an infant at 20 Diamond St. in April.

Police called the death of a 6-week-old girl untimely but have not said whether any foul play was involved. They say the cause of death is still pending further medical studies, including toxicology tests of the infant’s blood, which can take several weeks to complete.

When the incident happened, police were called for an unresponsive infant. Officers and paramedics performed CPR on the girl and transported her to Waterbury Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Police have not released the girl’s name and said Tuesday there was nothing new to report about the case.
