PROSPECT — Mrs. Helen M. Veneziano of Prospect passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Middlebury Convalescent Home at the age of 96, after a long and productive life. She was predeceased by her loving husband, George N. Veneziano, who passed away on Nov. 15, 1973.

Helen was born in Waterbury on April 27, 1918 daughter of the late Lyle and Mary Miller of Waterbury. Helen very reluctantly retired from the Timex Corporation in Middlebury on Jan. 1, 2000 at the age of 82. She and George were parishioners of St. Anthony’s Church in Prospect and were active supporters of the Prospect Fife and Drum Corps during their family raising years. George also served on the boards of education and recreation for a number of years.

Helen is survived by three children, George D. Veneziano, Robert A. Veneziano, and Ellen M. Veneziano; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday, May 9, 2014 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect. The funeral will proceed from the funeral home on Friday May 9, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. to St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect for a mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury.
