PROSPECT — Mrs. Gertrude Ann (Possidento) Iannucci, 92, of Prospect, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 24, 2014. She was the widow of John William Iannucci.

Mrs. Iannucci was born in Waterbury on Nov. 9, 1921 a daughter of the late Rocco and Catherine (Pace) Possidento. She was retired from the Uniroyal Inc. Footwear Division in Naugatuck and also formerly worked for 19 years at the Prospect Public Library and at Summit Physical Therapy. She is communicant of the Church of the Epiphany in Cheshire and was a former communicant of St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Prospect. She enjoyed reading and was an avid UConn womens basketball fan. She most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Iannucci is survived by a daughter, Kathy Doyle and her husband Tom of Prospect; two grandchildren, Tara Feeney and her husband Dennis and Jon Doyle and his wife Tina; three great-grandchildren, Audrey Feeney, Jack Feeney and Jonny Doyle and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six sisters, Lucy Zuccarelli, Josephine Possidento, Mary Nardozza, Jennie Tiso, Minnie Rosa and Rose DeFloria, and two brothers, Tom Possidento and Charlie Possidento.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Epiphany, 1750 Huckins Road, Cheshire. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect is in charge of arrangements.
