Police investigating copper thefts

State police are investigating separate copper thefts in Prospect and Beacon Falls.

About 100 feet of copper wire, valued at about $250, was stolen from the CL&P distribution center on Old Schoolhouse Road in Prospect, according to a press release issued by Troop I.

The theft occurred sometime between inspections on March 27 and April 14, when the theft was reported, the release stated.

A copper theft from the AT&T and T-Mobil cell tower on Rice Lane in Beacon Falls was reported April 16. According to police, several pieces of copper were stolen from the tower.
