Portuguese Club

NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Portuguese Club is offering three scholarships to students whose parents or guardians are members of the club.

Applicants must be completing their senior year at an accredited high school in Connecticut and planning to attend a two- or four-year school of higher education. Applications are available at the club, 110 Rubber Ave., or by contacting Carolina Miranda at (203) 758-0680 or chmiranda@snet.net. Completed applications must be postmarked by April 25.

Lions Club

BEACON FALLS — The Lions Club of Beacon Falls is accepting scholarship applications.

Beacon Falls residents graduating from high school and continuing their education in an accredited college or university are eligible to apply. Applications are available at the Woodland Regional High School guidance office, Beacon Falls Library or by calling Lion President Mary Unfricht at (203) 723-0943. The deadline to submit completed applications is April 2.

Perugini Charitable Trust

Applications are now being accepted for the Camille B. Perugini Charitable Trust annual scholarship. 

The scholarship is available to all Naugatuck, Prospect, Beacon Falls, Wolcott and local area high school seniors who demonstrate scholastic achievement, community involvement and financial need.  

Scholarships can range up to $2,000 per recipient and there will be multiple winners. 

Applications are available at most area high school guidance offices, or can be requested from attorney Carla M. Perugini Erickson via mail at P.O. Box 7299, Prospect, CT 06712, calling (203) 527-9307 or emailing Carla.erickson@sbcglobal.net.

Prospect Historical Society

PROSPECT — The Prospect Historical Society is accepting applications for the Nellie and Ruth Cowdell Scholarship.

The scholarship is $1,000. Applicants must be Prospect residents, and graduating seniors who will be attending an institute of higher learning in the fall. The scholarship is awarded based on an applicants’ scholarship, financial need, service, and a short essay about Prospect.

Applications are available in most high school guidance offices, Prospect Town Hall and the Prospect Library. Applications are also available online at www.prospecthistoricalsociety.com. The deadline to submit applications is May 2.

Lioness Club

BEACON FALLS — The Lioness Club of Beacon Falls is now accepting applications for its $1,000 college scholarship.

Females graduating from an area high school in 2014 and whose legal residence is Beacon Falls are eligible to apply. Applicants must plan to attend an accredited two- or four-year college, university or technical school in the fall of 2014. The scholarship is awarded on academic performance, leadership and community service.
