NAUGATUCK — Diane Lynn Marcisz, 49, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 at the VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit at Saint Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness surrounded by her family.
Diane was born on July 30, 1964, a daughter of Albin and Sandra (Petereit) Marcisz of Naugatuck. She graduated from Naugatuck High School in 1982, where she was a three sport varsity player in basketball, softball and volleyball. She attended Eastern Connecticut State University, where her softball team won the NCAA tournament in 1982 and 1983, and her volleyball team advanced to the tournament in 1982. She was an avid Yankee fan and she enjoyed watching UConn women’s basketball with her family. She was a loving caregiver to her pets.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her two sisters, Terri Carson and her husband Jim, and Patti Sambrook and her husband Ron, all of Naugatuck; three nephews, Tim Carson and his wife Ashlee of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Ryan Carson of Naugatuck, and Mike Carson of Stamford; a niece Nicole Sambrook of Naugatuck; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck.
