Obituary: Albert J. deHippolytis

WATERBURY — Albert J. deHippolytis, 84, passed away on March 28, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Lydia (Torreli) deHippolytis.

Albert was born on Feb. 18, 1930 in Bronx, N.Y., a son of the late Bartholomew deHippolytis and Susanna (Sabetelli) deHippolytis. He was retired from Acme Steel Rule Die Corp., where he worked as a salesman for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a permanent deacon in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hartford since 1973.

He is survived by one sister, Anne Aloia, several nieces and nephews, Jerry deHippolytis, Bart deHippolytis, Richard Varuolo, Anthony Varuolo, Susan Gilroy, Ralph Trombetta, Steven Trombetta and Mark Trombetta. He was predeceased by three sisters and one brother, Rose Delisa, Joseph deHippolytis, Carmella (Millie) Spano and Sylvia Varuolo.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck to St. Francis of Assisi Church for a mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery in Seymour. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
