NAUGATUCK — Trash and recycling collection resumed Friday in the borough after being postponed a day due to the snowstorm that hit Thursday, Mayor Robert Mezzo announced on his blog.

The regular Thursday collection route is being collected Friday and Friday’s normal route will be collected Saturday.

Trucks may be dispatched earlier than usual on the day of collection depending on scheduling constraints and/or weather-related disruptions, Mezzo said. It is also possible that some streets will be collected later than normal as some collection crew members also assist with snow plowing and clearing efforts, he said.

Residents are asked to have their trash and recycling containers curbside by midnight on the day of collection. For more information, call the public works department at (203) 720-7072.

Beacon Falls First Selectman Christopher Bielik announced earlier this week the town’s trash collection has been moved from Friday to Saturday this week.
