Borough theater announces auditions

NAUGATUCK — The Phoenix Stage Company announced open auditions for its production of Fuddy Meers.

Auditions are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the theater, 686 Rubber Ave. A cast of four men and three women are being sought for the production. All roles open to audition.

The play, a comedy by David Lindsay-Abaire, follows the character of Claire, who has a rare form of psychogenic amnesia that erases her memory whenever she goes to sleep. The production, which is scheduled to run in early March, is directed by Donna Storms.

The following roles are open for audition:

Gertie: In her 60s, a clear headed lady who’s had a stroke and can’t speak properly.

Claire: About 40 years old, a generally sunny woman with amnesia.

Richard: About 40 years old, a chatty, friendly, and sometimes nervous man.

Kenny:  17 years old, a troubled teen.

Limping man: About 40 years old, a lisping, limping, half-blind, half-deaf man with secrets.

Millet: In his 30s or 40s, an odd man with a puppet.

Heidi: In her 30s or 40s, a tough woman in uniform.
