Police investigating case of cat shot with BB gun
NAUGATUCK — Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect or suspects who shot a cat with a BB gun over the weekend.
On Aug. 24, police and animal control officers received a report that a cat had been shot with a pellet gun, police said. The cat’s owner, who lives on Simsberry Road, noticed the cat was bleeding and two BBs were lodged in its head, police said. The injuries to the cat are consistent with the animal being shot at close range, according to police.
The cat’s owner didn’t know who shot the cat and was unable to provide any information regarding possible suspects, police said. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Naugatuck Police Department at (203) 729-5222 or the police department’s confidential tip line at (203) 720-1010.
