The Connecticut Water Company will flush its water mains in Beacon Falls, Naugatuck, Prospect, Middlebury, Plymouth, Thomaston and Waterbury beginning today and continuing through May 24.
The flushing runs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The procedure will help maintain water quality by scouring the inside of the water mains.
During flushing, it is possible some customers may experience discolored water and pressure fluctuations. The discolored water should clear within a few hours.
While experiencing discolored water, customers should avoid using their washing machine, dishwasher or other devices that use water. If discolored water persists for more than a few hours, customers should call (800) 286-5700.
