BEACON FALLS — On Saturday the public helped the police stuff some of the most wanted into a cruiser.

Beacon Falls police held their annual Stuff a Cruiser toy drive at the fire house and collected over 200 toys, more than they had ever collected before.

“With the support of Beacon Hose Fire Company we were able to pull this off and make a lot of families happy in town,” Lt. Eddie Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said the toys were split evenly between St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church and Beacon Falls Congregational Church to be distributed to children in town.

“They go right to the church and the churches have a list of people who need them,” Rodriguez said.

The toy drive ran from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., but they were collecting toys until nearly 4 p.m. because residents continued to bring toys.

Rodriguez said one of the reasons the drive was so successful was the efforts of Officer Caroline O’Bar in promoting the drive.
