Tis the season for pumpkins.

The Naugatuck United Methodist Church and St. Anthony Church in Prospect are both holding pumpkin patches this month.

United Methodist Church’s annual Pumpkin Patch will open for the season Sunday.

For the past eight years, one of the church’s missions has been working with the Navajo Nation to bring pumpkins to Naugatuck. The Navajos are paid to plant, cultivate, and harvest the pumpkins. The pumpkins and gourds will be for sale daily in the Pumpkin Patch from Oct. 14 through Oct. 31, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the church, 208 Meadow St., Naugatuck.

St. Anthony Church’s pumpkin patch is currently open and is held weekdays, from 3 to 6 p.m., and weekends, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect.

Proceeds from the sale of pumpkins benefit the Church’s HOPE Ministry. On the weekends, the pumpkin patch also features vendors, live music, hay rides, and children’s activities. For more information, visit www.prospectpumpkinpatch.com or call Steve at (203) 758-4910.

The Naugatuck United Methodist Church is also holding an ongoing bottle and can drive to support its missions. For more information, call (203) 729-4236.
