Prospect holding annual Pumpkin Festival
The annual Pumpkin Festival will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday on the Town Green.
This year’s event will feature a few new attractions, Anne Fortier, who is helping to organize the festival, explained.
The festival is holding the hay bale rolling contest again. Only this time, there will be a category for children, Fortier said. She recommended that children who plan on participating come with long-sleeved shirts and gloves. There will also be a show put on by Matica Arts’ Sonic Fire, a fire-theater troupe.
There will also be some returning festival favorites.
According to Fortier, there will be a hay maze, pony rides, and pumpkin decorating.
Pumpkins that were decorated by Region 16 elementary schools will be on display during the festival as well. The festival will also feature a tractor show, Fortier said. Last year’s show brought approximately 25 tractors to the festival.
Another activity that is returning to the Pumpkin Festival is the haunted house.
“The haunted house is always awesome. It’s very different every year. They do an amazing job,” Fortier said.
The haunted house will be located in the Grange.
The rain date for the festival is Sunday.
